Thursday, 11 September 2026, marked the comencement of the three – month 11th International Senior Course on Defense Studies , (ISCDS) of the Hellenic National Defense College. The purpose of the Course is to prepare students to respond to developments in the geostrategic environment and to distinguish themselves through their level of strategic thinking and critical ability. In addition, it aims to foster an understanding of strategic planning, as well as to provide knowledge, qualifications and skills that are necessary for the management of security organisations at the strategic level, within a national and international environment.
As part of the opening, the Commandant of the National Defense College, Rear Admiral Konstantinos Pitykakis, addressed the students.
The aforementioned training series includes Officers from the Armed Forces and Security Forces of the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Armenia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Lebanon, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the State of Qatar and Romania
