On Monday, September 7, 2026, the opening ceremony for the 17th Distance Learning Course (DLC) took place at the War Museum of Athens opened by a greeting from the Commander of the National Defence School, Rear Admiral Konstantinos Pitykakis (HN), representing the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic Police , Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, as well as Representatives from the General Staffs of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces.
This educational program comprises of officers from the Armed Forces, the Security Forces, and the Republic of Cyprus, as well as civilian staff of the Ministry of National Defence.
After the ceremony, the educational program for the first three-day in person session began featuring lectures by professors of the National Defence School on Strategy and Geopolitics.
